Does your request belong here?
This is the place to request sockpuppet checks or other investigations requiring CheckUser privileges. Checkuser is a last resort for difficult cases. Use other methods first. You can try posting on the administrator's noticeboard for example.

Please do not ask us to run checks without good reason:

These indicators are used by CheckUsers to allow easier at-a-glance reading of their notes, actions and comments.

  1. Running a check will only be done to combat disruption on Commons, or as required to assist CheckUser investigations on other Wikimedia wikis.
    • Valid reasons for running a check include vandalism where a block of the underlying IP or IP range is needed, disruptive sockpuppetry, vote-stacking, and similar disruption where the technical evidence from running a check would prevent or reduce further disruption to Wikimedia projects.
  2. Requests to run a check with ambiguous reasoning will result in delays - please provide a rationale at the time you make the request
    • Show what the disruption to the project is, and why you believe the accounts are related.
  3. Requests to run a check on yourself will be declined
  4. The privacy policy does not allow us to make a check that has the effect of revealing IP addresses.
Outcome
Responses will be brief in order to comply with Wikimedia privacy policy. Due to technical limitations, results are not always clear. Check back regularly to see the outcome of your request. Closed requests are archived after seven days.
Privacy violation?
If you feel that a checkuser has led to a violation of the Wikimedia Foundation privacy policy regarding yourself, please refer the case to the Ombudsman commission.

If this page is displaying outdated contents even after you refresh the page in your browser, please purge this page's cache.

To request a check:

Cases are created on subpages of Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case.

Creating a request
  • Insert the name of the suspected sockpuppeteer (the main account or puppetmaster, not the sockpuppet!) in the box below, leaving out the "User:" prefix. Do not remove the text in the box, add to the end only.
  • Please explain/justify the request by saying what it is you suspect and why it is important that the check be carried out. Indicate the usernames you suspect, using {{checkuser}}. Please do not use this template in the section header, as that makes it difficult to read the account names. Include the diffs or links required to support the request and reason for it.
  • There are people to assist you and help with maintenance of the page. Just ask for help on the admin noticeboard if you really are stuck, or take your best shot and note that you weren't completely sure of what to say.
  • If a case subpage already exists, edit the existing page instead, either adding to the currently open section (if the case is not yet archived) or adding a new section to the top (if the case has been archived). When editing an existing case, be sure to list/transclude the subpage here.
Example
If you want to request a checkuser on User:John Doe, enter the text Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/John Doe then click "Request a checkuser." You will be taken to a page where you can fill out the request. Please make your request there brief and concise.

Then transclude your subpage on the top of the list at Commons:Requests for checkuser and remove {{Checkuser requests to be listed}} from the top of the case subpage.

[edit] Alofok

[edit] Suspected related users

[edit] Rationale

  • Reason: User:Alofok was blocked due to edit warring and repeated vandalism. After his account was blocked User:Alofok continued his nonconstructive actions here as an IP and on the German Wikipedia. Recently, this image that was uploaded by User:Alofok but it was not photographed by him but by a person called "ManuElaZ" got deleted. He did not provide the requested permission for using it here. Now, there is a User:ManuElaZ which uploaded the same file again. I please somebody to check if this account is associated with User:Alofok's account. By the way, there is a second account, User:KünstlerHelmi. Because this account was used for uploading images that were taken by the same camera type with the same settings, it is likely that User:KünstlerHelmi is a sockpuppet of User:Alofok, too. I please to check this account as well. --High Contrast (talk) 15:41, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Siddiqui

[edit] Suspected related users

[edit] Rationale

Image of the sockpuppeteer
  1. User:Siddiqui (Farhan Ahmad Siddiqui), a Pakistani sockpuppeteer who was in Nevada (USA) [1] [2], was blocked indefinitely in Wikipedia for "Disruptive editing: Extensive copyright infringement across multiple accounts". [3] Ironboy11 (also a Pakistani who was in Nevada (USA) [4]) was also blocked indefinately for copyright violations [5]. Afghan Historian is also a Pakistani and used IPs from USA to edit his user-page [6], [7], [8] and uploaded copyrighted images (i.e. File:Dr Israr Ahmad.jpg).
  2. I suspect that Siddiqui is behind w:User:TopGun in Wikipedia where he's edit-warring. [9] Afghan Historian has admitted to using w:User:Dr Pakhtunyar Afghan as a sock. "... My Username on Commons is Afghan Historian and on Wikipedia is Dr Pukhtun Yar Afghan." However, he decided to conceal some of the other names that he's using (i.e. w:User:Afghan Historian). These re-namings are evidence of the possible relation between Dr. PA and TopGun. [10], [11] He is currently in Islamabad, Pakistan, per his own admission."... currently I am in Islamabad, Pakistan" In November 2011, TopGun added the category "Wikipedians in Pakistan" to his page [12], which suggests that he moved from USA to Pakistan. All these names share the same particular interest and write as someone from America. I suspect that this Islamabad IP is him, where it vandalized a page and wrote: "Pashtun women are all fat and snobbish for no particular reason. They are all under the impression that they are attractive, despite bearing an uncanny resemblance with cows. The most attractive of the lot looks like a dog infected with several STDs." This is clearly not Pakistani English and is written by someon from the West who's in Islamabad.
  3. Scrolling through this shows that Siddiqui has been editing under different sockpuppets. Everywhere Siddiqui left-off Ironboy11 came to edit the same pages, and when Ironboy11 was indefinite blocked in October 2011, TopGun (a sleeper) began editing those same pages. [13], [14], [15], [16], [17], [18]............
  4. The similarity report between TopGun and Siddiqui shows 106 pages edited by the two.
  5. The report between Ironboy11 and Siddiqui shows 142 pages.
  6. The report between Afghan Historian and Siddqui shows 52 pages
  7. Afghan Historian and TopGun also edited the same pages. [19]
  8. TopGun's page states that he has "been on Wikipedia for 5 years and 29 days", which just about matches Siddiqui's and Afghan Historian's Wiki experiance. [20], [21]
  9. I've been lurking around by viewing the history of some Wikipedia pages that interested me and came across this: "Soon the Taliban will step up the BOMBINGS in the interior of Afghanistan... ", which I believe was posted by the suspect as you can see similarity in his writing here and else where as well as his attitude towards Afghanistan. What that means is that he's also a racist and supporter of terrorists. I'm trying to study the minds of these type of deluded people, where they proudly label self as Zoroastrian to the world [22] and then turn around and say they never did such. "And no I am not a Zoroastrian, I never said that..." It claims to be Afghan but at the same time it goes around leaving hate messages of seeing Afghanistan destroyed and finished, becoming part of Iran and other countries. And best of all it calls me and the admins here as sickos.[23]

I'm pretty sure that all these names and IPs are related regardless of locations because he sometimes travels according to him. Siddiqui has said that he travels to Islamabad, Pakistan. For example, he stated that this deleted image (File:Faizabad Interchange.jpg) was made by him in 2006 when he was in Islamabad. AH has said on my talk page that he came from USA to Islamabad, Pakistan. Looking at his webshot photo you can see he's a cunning and shrewd person, who claims to be "a life-long student of Arts, Anthropology, Astronomy, Genealogy, History, Human Geography, International Relations and Science" [24], which is in line with the actions of all the names and IPs listed in this CU. The reason I request a CU is to determine what is going on with this copyright infringer, sockpuppeteer, pov-warrior and propagandist. If he's abusing multiple accounts in Wikipedia he is most likely doing the same here, and an admin needs to put an end to his socking games in Wikipedia. Thanks. P.S. the suspect has a friend User:Mar4d who is socking around from Australia, and possibly another one from the UK and this one (w:User:Saki)--Officer (talk) 16:56, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
