Hello, Karthikndr!

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.

hello karthik,

only the photos that you clicked yourself can be added to commons with the licence "own". the picture of singer of karthik you added was taken from here and thus cannot be added to commons.--Sodabottle (talk) 15:40, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Your sentence "www.hamaraphotos.com website do not claim to have copyrights on the content provided by third party agencies." not makes any sense.

• If they not own the copyright then the copyright belongs to someone else, how is this a permission for you to reuse it without permission from the original copyright owner?
• If they onw the copyright then you have no permission from the to reuse it.

Request

Hi Karthik, i am an editor on Wikipedia and am planning to organize the "Wiki Takes Mangalore (2012)" sometime this year. I liked your logo of the file, and wondering if you would be interested in creating an image of similar quality for us Mangalorean Wikipedians. In the image, i would like to have the Gateway of India replaced with that of the Gokarnatheshwara temple. Also, i would like the color of the wings changed to light gold, and the text "takes Mangalore" changed to light gold as well.
