Request for a better upload of File:Wiki_Conference_India_2011_Folder.JPG

Hi Sreejithk2000, I've uploaded Wiki Conference India 2011 Folder. Although this is my own upload, I am terribly upset by the the rather blurred appearance of this valuable folder image. Can you, or any of your friends reupload a better scanned image for it? That way we can have much more memorable and good quality image . Speedy deletion without any good reason is a direct path to lose your admin flag. That woman is real prostitute and I dont care about your sense of morality or something else. You HAVE TO restore this image and only after that we can discuss it Алый Король (talk) 07:11, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

The deletion reason was filled in by User:Someguy1221 but that's a valid concern. This is a portrait of a women stating that she is a prostitute and it directly violates Commons:Personality rights. All I am asking you is to email OTRS saying that Boris Stepnovich Lukoshkov is your grand father and now you are the copyright holder since he is no more. How difficult is that? If you are insisting on undeleting it, I will do that and will put a deletion request on it. Cameron Diaz

Hi Sree - why did you redirect my Cameron Diaz file to MyCanon's, instead of the other way around? I uploaded the photo first, and I'm the photographer - I would like these photos to be in my own contribution history as opposed to MyCanon's, which is not an unreasonable thing to ask and expect since I've been contributing here since 2006. MyCanon has other work of mine that are duplicates, such as Emma Watson, Sarah Silverman and Chris Colfer. • Hi Sreejithk2000, I need your help relating images for articles Zarb-e-Sukhan and Ehsan Sehgal. I am not familiar to up-load images, the images which have been up-loaded by my immediate family, I think there is some error, I cannot access properly, therefore I need your kind help to make it correct in exact procedure.Images file is here. There were two different files with the same name in commons, so I split the page into two. You can see the two files are now available as File:Gloriosa.jpg and File:Gloriosa (1).jpg. Now since your file was overwritten, the original image description was retained. I hope you are not disagreeing to the fact that this image is a copyright violation at its present state. User:Dzlinker put a speedy delete tag on it instead of a DR. I do not know why he did not notify the uploader. If I had seen that the image is used widely, I would have converted it to a DR, but I did not pay attention to that. An oversight from my part. Indi.ca is listed at User:FlickreviewR/bad-authors which means that this user probably does not know copyright of all the images he has uploaded to flickr. For reference, his id is 85113745@N00. Exact duplicates

Hi, there has been a mistake in processing files labeled as {{duplicate}}, File:Lousame, Lousame..svg, Vilacoba.svg etc were not exact duplicates of the nominated files. So a speedy process like {{duplicate}} is not appropriate, a normal deletion request is required. :-) --Tony Wills (talk) 10:58, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

I was just trying to work out the reason for the different versions (I think they were all uploaded by the same person?), when they disappeared ;-). The outlined areas were noticably different shapes, was that just inaccurate tracing of borders or borders from different eras? If the uploader had indicated that the first versions were a mistake then I wouldn't worry, but I think it was someone else who nominated them. Yes undo a couple of them so we can check them out.

I was also going to mention the PNG/JPG "duplicates" (File:Carantonha,_de_Lousame.png, Ces, Lousame.png) I think uploaded by the same user (and nominated as duplicates by the same user that tagged the SVGs). If the JPGs were created from the PNGs then I would keep the PNGs (and visa versa), but it appears the tagger created a new JPG from the PNG and uploaded it over the old JPG, then nominated the PNG as duplicate. I think I would tend to revert the overwrite of the JPG, and keep the different JPG/PNG pairs, and link them as "other versions". --Tony Wills (talk) 13:10, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Ok, undeleted one. See File:Lousame, Lousame..svg and File:Parroquia de Lousame, Lousame..svg. To me, the second version is not accurate at all and we probably does not need it as a better version is available. But if you think we should not delete it for that reason, we can use the {{Superseded}} template instead.

The second certainly appears more precise (more detailed borders) but I have no idea whether it is more accurate (some borders are moved a lot). I had a brief look but wasn't sure about what reference either version was based upon, nor noticed any discussion (but then I can't read Spanish). Yes I agree that {{Superseded}} is much better, if they need to be deleted then we should see a discussion citing the reference sources first. --Tony Wills (talk) 22:07, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, my post was a bit hurried. I was talking about the pairs File:Carantonha,_de_Lousame.png (before being made into a redirect) / File:Carantonha, de Lousame.jpg, and File:Ces, Lousame.png / File:Ces, Lousame.jpg.
