Caro Waldir, peço que verifique as imagens dos usuários Guzzzz (talk · contributions · Number of edits:) e Baddin (talk · contributions · Number of edits:) que são imagens apagadas (por estarem protegidas por direitos autorais) e reupadas sob contas diferentes. Agora o usuário espertamente disponibiliza as imagens no Flickr (quando na verdade nem dele são). Acredito que é um caso antigo, já documentado antes: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5] e [6]. Oi Waldir, será que você pode me ajudar na upload dos logos do Non-Aligned Movement ? Já pipoquei uma vez. O problema das licencias na commons ainda é meio complicado pra mim. Eu pensava que não teria problema pra uma organização internacional. Eu também queria, se funcionar, upload os mas recentes logos : [7] e [8] depois de uma conversação em .png ou .svg com Inkscape. Isto eu faria, no caso eu entender este ultimo aspecto (tenho dificuldades pra fazer meus svg legível) e forca sobre Licensing and Copyright tags. Obrigado por qualquer ajuda. Caro Piero, desculpa a demora da resposta. Quanto aos logos que queres carregar, infelizmente eles não são aceitáveis enquanto não puderes apresentar a licença em que eles estão disponibilizados. Infelizmente, se os sites não indicam a licença, legalmente é assumido o copyright tradicional, o que obviamente é uma licença não livre e não pode consequentemente ser aceite no commons. Meu caro Waldir. Tudo bem... não sei o que fazer então (mas como é possível, o logo de uma organização internacional, não ser admissível ? mesmo publicado pela UNO ?). Sera que uma versão vector (feita por mim, com Inkscape, como esta ai em png) seria aceitável ? Portanto, acho que vou renunciar, por enquanto. Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.

Hello fellow admin! You seem to be the only active pt admin at the moment, so I hope you don't mind me asking a favour :)

Could you warn Jota.ve.esse that if he uploads his blog logo again he'll be blocked? There's no template for saying "don't upload it to other names too" or "stop uploading that one image altogether". He's uploaded it to four different names five different times now, and even has a promotional pt.wp page for the blog. It's non-notable and the logo is out of scope for Commons.

Hello,

Perhaps I would be glad to be an admin here on Commons. But I would not use admin powers for my own admin-only editing requests, at least in a first time. For at least some of those edits, I prefer that a second person can have a look a the proposed change and see if it is valuable enough.

The other problem is whether people would want to give me adminship. I've taken part in a lot of debates and disagreed with a lot of people, over all this time, so I wonder what their reaction might be if I asked for adminship. Teofilo (talk) 12:51, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] langlist in moderation

Please don't convert manual lists of links in heavily used templates to {{langlist}} like Template:PD-old/lang, which had more than 40 links (a handful got cut off). While {{langlist}} isn't too bad by itself in terms of size and performance, when you have five or six on a page, they can be. If every template on an image page used one of these, you can end up with quite a lot of overhead, especially if the user tri-licenses a FP/QI/VI/POTY image that needs lots of maintenance. ;) User messages are even worse because those can really accumulate. If I get 20 messages with language links created by this template (which are never subst'd themselves and usually inside a {{autotranslate}}), that's going really slow down my page loading speed. /lang pages should be as light as possible. I went through all this with {{lang links}} a long time ago and have been looking for a better solution since. The only difference with that is it makes a lot more database queries and the devs don't like that, but to a user, it's the same (except if you hit the limit). The thing with {{langlist}} though is it's just a shortcut. It doesn't do anything except make adding a language slightly easier. At least {{lang links}} could make it so we never have to add translations to any templates ever again. We could even use recursive substitution for user messages so we would never hit any limit. But we care about things other than editor convenience.

{{langlist}} is great for some things but it's not everything. It only goes up to 40. This can be expanded, but that will make it even heavier. You can't change the namespace. It only supports the language codes in Names.php, when we have others in use. It doesn't allow for variants. Editing {{langlist}} itself really is rough on the servers (it time outs), which would be fine but it's not something like {{!}} or {{edit}} which practically never have to be edited. Etc. When a high-use template already has ton of manual links, there's no need to convert it. The only people that edit these templates are admins. Experienced maintenance workers. We're used to editing code that's not the prettiest. We (hopefully) know what we're doing and won't have a problem add a language manually. It really isn't that much work, is it? Try {{subst:lang links subst}} sometime. Rocket000 (talk) 08:23, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

No problem and thanks for understanding. It's not that big of deal, but I just saw it becoming one. I do have an idea I've been thinking of but I'm afraid I don't know how to implement it. We have a CSS class called hidden-redlink and it simply hides all red links. This means we can link to all possible subpages without checking if they exist (no parser functions). The CSS hides everything that's red and when someone makes it blue it shows up. Thus, autoupdating. So far so good, but here's where I run into trouble. How can we properly format that? Again with CSS, using :before or :after pseudo-elements to append a " | " to the blue links but not the red? I just don't know CSS well enough to do this (it's also possible using border-left to make a pipe-looking separator, e.g.). Rocket000 (talk) 11:30, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I was randomly looking around other projects to find interesting new template ideas (meta's the best, btw), and happened to wander over to wmf. I discovered they were using a CSS/HTML approach to language links using list elements! For example, wmf:Template:HomeLang. I'm not sure if this helps us at all, but maybe it'll give you some ideas? Did you ever figure out why IE8 has issues with the example you pasted on my talk page? It seems like all basic stuff (e.g. no pseudo-elements). Another thought I had: What if we add a image as the separator? I was thinking about the external link icons which change based on what the link is. (Also, I can't get the border thing to look good and consistent.) We can make use of the .new class which is automatically applied to all red links (it's what makes them red). Oh sorry, I was kinda in a hurry. Basically, those last two sentences (or three, including the one in parentheses) referred to using an image as the separator. The external link images MediaWiki uses gave me the idea, that's why I mentioned those. The .new class is also something that may be of use. It is automatically applied to all red links by MediaWiki. Olá. Criei uma página no Wikipedia para uma grupo de música e gostaria de postar uma imagem do logotipo (ou outra mostrando todos intergrantes) que está disponível no álbum de fotos do Myspace do grupo. Como eu faço com relação a licença? Eu já carreguei duas imagens (imagem 1 e imagem 2) que postei em outros dois artigos, coloquei o máximo de informaçoes que eu pude sobre o local onde as adquiri, mas também não soube resolver a questão da licença. First, thanks so much for all your help with the AntWeb bot. You really helped get us motivated, and were helpful through the whole process. There are a couple hundred pre-bot-approval pictures with old descriptions that I'd like removed. I'm not sure how best to do this. Some of the older uploaded content could be in used (lots of what I uploaded I linked into the English wiki). Best way to handle it is to keep the old stuff online, create a bot operation that will tag them all with a special new template that indicates that it likely is a duplicate and that it should be deleted over the bot uploaded version after all uses of it has been switched. Como eu expliquei aqui o meu inglês é bom o suficiente para entender o que se escreve, mas não bom o suficiente para escrever de maneira fluente, apenas o básico. Bem, como já disse aqui, após um período de relativo brilho (entre os anos 20 e os 50), nos quais foi professor de vários escultores famosos (como Figueira, Oliani, Teresa D'Amico e o próprio Raphael Galvez), Nicola Rollo caiu no ostracismo, o Parque D. Pedro II, onde se encontra o Palácio das Indústrias, tornou-se um espaço degradado e nunca foi estabelecida a sua biografia. Ingressando no mestrado em História da Arte e da Cultura da UNICAMP-Universidade Estadual de Campinas, iniciei pesquisa visando recuperar não apenas Nicola Rollo, mas também Luigi Brizzolara. O trabalho, publicado, encontra-se disponível on-line e se chama, não por acaso,Nos Dédalos da Memória, ao Encontro de Dois Enigmas. No processo de pesquisa, entrevistei várias vezes Raphael Galvez (possuidor da composição com galhos, em betume) o qual me permitiu divulgar livremente as imagens conseguidas em seu atelier, bem como suas entrevistas (gravadas em velhas fitas k7, entre 1986 e 1987). Mayra Laudanna, professora do IEB-Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros, da USP-Universidade de São Paulo, me acompanhou a estas entrevistas. O desenho da Virgem Maria, a lápis, lhe havia sido presenteado por Mário Graciotti, que o recebera das mãos do próprio Nicola Rollo, de quem privava da amizade. Mayra igualmente me autorizou a utilizar a imagem para fins de trabalho. Bem, esta é toda a história e, inclusive, se for o caso, então, penso que todos os desenhos de Rollo devam ser eliminados, bem como a Cabeça de Fauno e os modelos de Gigantes, pois todos estes ítens foram fotografados nas mesmas circunstâncias. Esclareço que, caso estas medidas sejam tomadas (ou seja, a eliminação dos desenhos de Nicola Rollo, dos modelos dos gigantes e da cabeça de Fauno) restaurão apenas, acessíveis ao grande público, o túmulo de Luis ísola, os bandeirantes do Museu do Ipiranga, o Cristo do Guarujá e os trabalhos no Palácio das Indústrias. Aproveito o ensejo para questionar porque a alegoria do comércio (fotografia feita por mim, com uma câmara rudimentar em 1986, recortada e escaneada) está também listada para eliminação. O editor que propôs a eliminação não entende português e eu não entendo "portunhol" (deve ser fruto de uma tradução eletrônica), logo, não conseguimos nos fazer entender mútuamente. Agradecido. Caro Waldir, gostaria de saber como está a questão em relação à eliminação dos desenhos de Nicola Rollo, porque não quero manter absolutamente nada que possa ser considerado ilícito. Como havia apontado antes, por analogia, se [File:Rollo desenhos 2.jpg] for eliminada, então [File:Rollo - gigantes.jpg], [File:Rollo - gigantes 1.jpg], [File:Rollo - gigantes 2.jpg], [File:Rollo-Fauno 1.jpg], [File:Rollo-Fauno 2.jpg], [File:Rollo-Fauno.jpg], [File:Rollo desenhos 1.jpg], [File:Rollo desenhos 1.jpg] e [File:Rollo-desenhos.jpg] devem ser eliminadas também, pois as fotografias originais foram realizadas no mesmo local, data e condições. Como eu havia dito antes, não desejo fazer nada ilícito e me submeto a qualquer veredito dos editores. Agradecido. Luiz Carlos Cappellano.

[edit] Deletar um arquivo

Fiz um upload para o Commons, o nome do arquivo é BRASAO_UFCSPA.jpg. Acontece que, ao consultar a assessoria de comunicação sobre a política de identidade visual da UFCSPA, descobri que o brasão não pode ser reproduzido sem autorização da mesma. Portanto, transgredi uma regra da instituição onde trabalho, 1º porque coloquei ela no commons sem autorização, e 2º porque qualquer um agora poderá copiá-la. Gostaria que alguém removesse a imagem que eu coloquei ali.

Movi o ficheiro para File:Enchantment of the Seas.jpg. A versão que tinhas carregado tinha menor resolução (deve-se usar o link "resolução completa" quando se quer transferir um ficheiro), por isso recarreguei a partir do original da Wikipédia em inglês. Prezado Waldir, tenho percebido que as fotos que carreguei ultimamente não receberam a atualização, da permissão enviada pelo autor, como ocorreu com essa imagem [[13]], todas as fotos que carrego, solicito ao autor que envie o e-mail para permissions-commons-pt@wikimedia.org, conforme o Modelo de mensagem. No caso em questão, as imagens abaixo foram deletadas, mas o autor, enviou duas vezes o e-mail da permissão...

Está ocorrendo algum problema com essa atualização? eventualmente algum autor, esquece de enviar, mas a maioria faz isso corretamente... pode verificar para mim? OBRIGADO

Encontrei uma autorização para a imagem File:GE U22C FCA 2802.jpg mas não para a File:GE C30-7A ALL CQ 7204.jpg. Por favor verifica antes com os autores para ter certeza que enviaram o pedido para a imagem específica. E já agora, pede a este autor que envie para permissions-commons-pt@wikimedia.org em vez de permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, e que use o texto padrão de licenciamento (a autorização que mencionei acima envolveu várias mensagens trocadas para eliminar a ambiguidade).

Well, I don't see any issues, but just for sure, what uses do you have in mind for the tools? And is there anything you suspect might give people second thoughts? The last adminship nomination I made didn't go so well, so I would like to feel more assured before taking any steps. In your case, I love your enthusiasm and boldness, but I think sometimes you should attempt to communicate more with people before taking actions; for example the AntWeb images you uploaded with the tool (the one I never ended up reviewing, sorry) -- you could have saved some time for you (and everyone, as the images had to be afterwards deleted). Well I don't think there is anything that would cause much of a problem, probably a year ago I did have a run-in with Rama over some picture he deleted against consensus I believe, if I remember correctly. I'd make use of the tools to help with any backlogs and other tasks that need done, in the past I've done a fair bit of anti-vandal editing on en.wikipedia and some here, and I've participated a fair bit in the deletion process. — raeky (talk | edits) 00:21, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
But can "tasks that need done" keep you motivated in the long run? I mean, in my case I had a need for the tools because I often bumped into protected images during my categorization sprees, etc. If I only intended the tools to help out where it was needed, I'm afraid I wouldn't be much of a net positive (even though I wouldn't cause any damage). What I mean is, if you don't *need* the tools, maybe your editing habits wouldn't change much to adapt to them (which actually is the wrong way, IMO -- that's why they're called tools, afterall: to serve us, not the other way around). But it might be different for you, I just wanted to mention this. Let me know what you think of this. Olá Waldir! Eu estava editando quando encontrei um problema. Existe uma categoria chamada "Women with blond hair" e outra "Female blond hair". Gostaria de saber se isso está correto? Me parecem querer dizer as mesmas coisas, como categorias repetidas. Pensei até em consultar um burocrata.

São realmente muito parecidas, mas talvez a diferença seja que a primeira categoria se foca em mulheres com cabelo loiro, enquanto a outra se foca no cabelo em si. Eu sugeria mover para Category:Women with blond hair todas as imagens que não se focam claramente no cabelo da pessoa (bom exemplo / mau exemplo). Além disso, um link "see also" deveria ser adicionado a ambas as categorias, e talvez um texto descritivo para explicar a diferença.
Mas pensando bem, essa distinção é bastante subjectiva, e os exemplos que me parecem claros como membros da Category:Female blond hair são muito poucos (eis outro, mas que a meu ver não tem razões fortes para ser identificado como "female"), pelo que talvez o melhor seja fundir as categorias (nota, aliás, como as subcategorias seriam claramente melhor posicionadas como subcategorias de Category:Women with blond hair.
Mas antes de fazer qualquer coisa, eu sugeria-te procurar por discussões sobre o tema, nas páginas de discussão dessas categorias e das semelhantes (brown hair, red hair, etc) e nas páginas afluentes das mesmas. Infelizmente, essas condições não são aceitáveis. Se leres a página Commons:Licenciamento, verás que aí diz "A Wikimedia Commons aceita somente conteúdo livre, isto é, imagens e outros ficheiros de media que podem ser usados por qualquer um, para qualquer propósito". Se for apenas "livre" para a Wikipédia, isso não é realmente livre, pois não? Vê se consegues convencer o autor dos benefícios de exposição/publicidade que uma licença livre pode fornecer. Por exemplo, o creative commons by-sa implica que qualquer um pode usar a imagem mas deve partilhá-la também com uma licença livre, e deve sempre indicar o autor. Isso facilita o uso e disseminação das imagens, e consequentemente causa a divulgação do autor também. --Waldir talk 06:51, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Eu também gostaria de saber, já que esta pessoa pegou a foto da internet e pôs como se fosse sua, diante da licença. Para começo de história, é só olhar a galeria deste indivíduo, pois tem fotos de photoshoot e de divulgação de séries. Se for assim, eu iria postar esta foto, já que está com uma licença disponível, mas eu sei que a pessoa não é detentora dos direitos, já que olhando sua galeria pude ver que infrigiu os direitos da disney por exemplo, postando fotos de divulgação de filmes como crônicas de nárnia e alice. é o que ocorre na galeria da pessoa que postou essa foto no flickr. é aquele esqueminha de postar a foto no flickr e depois colocar no commons, o que não é permitido! Portanto, fiz minha parte, agora você é que sabe. Se esta foto pode permanecer, a que eu quero postar também poderá, não é? Além desse utilizador ser do Brasil, o que logo impossibilita de ter tirado a foto, não que não pudesse, mas este não é o caso. Lucazeppelin (talk) 05:54, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Feito. Era melhor ter a origem da foto, mas as evidências neste caso são suficientes para criar dúvida razoável sobre a autenticidade da autoria. Olá Waldir; creio termos cooperado na confecção do brasão de Cabo Verde, há muito tempo; está lembrado? Não sabia que era um administrador.

Existe um usuário problemático que está querendo alterar a bandeira presidencial do Brasil baseado em uma foto. Ocorre que o desenho desse arquivo foi feito com o arquivo oficial do brasão brasileiro, distribuído pelo governo, e o verde é o mesmo da bandeira nacional, arquivo vetor esse também distribuído pelo governo. Por outro lado, uma foto é por demais subjetiva (luz, percepção alheia etc.) e a confecção da bandeira fotografada, supondo ter seguido os ditâmes legais, pode diferenciar-se em muito de um arquivo vetorial (uma coisa é um tecido real, a outra um arquivo virtual, com cores baseadas na luz (RGB) e não no pigmento (CMYK)).

Já reverti e pedi para o usuário levar a discussão para a página apropriada, pelo que já demonstrou insistência. Peço que acompanhe o caso e intermedeie se considerar necessário.

Hello! You made rivers and coastlines to borders. Who cares if a file has got a different internal structure when it shows misleading information after that change? This is not an improvement, this map simply became wrong. Next time you think of changing maps you better ask the uploader first, then those mistakes (and the colour of the waterbodies and boundaries were still wrong) won't happen. Hi, Incnis Mrsi. Thanks for the heads up. I am indeed aware of that functionality, but I purposely avoid it as it is inconvenient, due to this: "Note that while HotCat normally automatically submits single category changes, it will never do so when operating in multi-change mode. It will always open a screen showing the changes made, which you should review before submitting the edit manually."
I'd rather create the minor inconvenience of multiple entries in an article's history (which, by the way, can de individually undone in a clean manner) than reducing my categorization work by forcing myself into a workflow that displeases me. The closest thing to your first request I know of is Special:MostLinkedCategories. As for the second request, I am not sure what you mean by classes. Could you clarify? --Waldir talk 19:21, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

I actually expected to find a "categories with the most entries" special page, but there doesn't seem to be one. Maybe you can find a tool in the toolserver that does that, or maybe there are database reports here in Commons, similar to the ones they have in English Wikipedia, but I am not aware of neither. If you find that there none of these options exist and would like help requesting that change in the software (via bugzilla), let me know. --Waldir talk 19:30, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
